1. What are the costs of therapy? 

Fees are set at a rate of $200 per 50-60 minute session. Please inquire with your benefits provider as to what is covered in your plan.

2.  How do I pay and is direct billing available? 

Direct billing is available for most insurance plans, including NIHB coverage. Please enquire with your plan to determine your coverage prior to booking.

Payments can also be made via electronic money transfer or credit card. You will be provided with a receipt to submit to your insurance. Receipts can be viewed on your client portal. 

3. How do I book an appointment? 

Please fill out an inquiry form or email oreilly@therapyemail.com.  From there, you will receive a follow up phone call or email to hear more about your concerns and answer any questions you may have. 

 

4. I am in immediate need of crisis support, what do I do? 

If you are experiencing a personal crisis, please call the S.O.S crisis line 780- 743- 4357,  or the AHS Mental Health Helpline 1- 877- 303- 2642. For urgent assistance call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department. 

 

5. What is the difference between a therapist and a psychiatrist?

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor with additional education and training in the field of psychiatry/ mental health. Only a psychiatrist or a physician can prescribe medication for your mental health.  I have training and experience in recognizing mental health disorders, if you would benefit from a referral to a psychiatrist this can be discussed with you.

 

6. Do you see children and youth?

Yes, I work with children and youth. Currently, I am working towards my play therapy designation with the Canadian Association of Play Therapy. Working with children requires specialized training. To speak the language of children is to understand the importance of play.  

 

7. What if I need to cancel my appointment?

If you need to change your appointment, please note that you can do so up to 24 hours in advance on your client portal. Cancellation fees apply for late cancellations or no shows.
